As a family physician I cared for people from cradle to grave, and over the years there were many who went through hospice under my care. While I heard a few vague comments from hospice caregivers about deathbed visions, I never thought much about them until, upon retiring and beginning to write AFTERLIFE'S DOOR, I read a book by Hadley Vlahos RN. Deathbed visions and other observed aspects of the dying process (again, click on THE IN-BETWEEN, above center, below "PRESS") have become more real to me, and they fit well into the book's story. While I do not claim any real scientific knowledge of the afterlife, I wonder if reality holds any similarity to my musings. And if science DOES discover a doorway to another existence, will we be ready?
